Kartause Ittingen (Former Carthusian Monastery Ittingen)

The modern day Kartause Ittingen has Europe-wide significance in regard to its cultural, spiritual and historical programme. It has become a meeting place for peoples of all cultures, nationalities and religions. Kartause Ittingen is obliged to maintain its monastic values and for that reason it operates a school and daycentre for the disabled and a guesthouse in which physically and intellectually disabled people can live and work. It also has a thriving cheese and wine business. Additionally, it houses the art museum for Kanton Thurgau, the Ittingen museum and the tecum, an Evangelical meeting place and training centre.
