The German shore of the Bodensee
Langenargen
The beautiful southern aspect of the Württemberg lake coast, with views across the Bodensee, the Swiss shoreline and the Alps, give Langenargen its slogan 'The sunroom of the Bodensee'.
Schloss Montfort, built in the Moorish style, is Langenargen's landmark. From the tower you can see a wonderful view of the lake, the Alps and the surrounding landscape. The well-known Langenargen summer concerts take place at the castle and its elegant and charming ambience makes it an ideal setting for weddings and conferences.
The historic Münzhof, (Coin yard) is regularly used for concerts, theatre events, cabaret, comedy shows and film presentations.
As well as culture, Langenargen has many sports and activities to offer as part of your holiday experience: swimming and sunbathing from the marvellous lakeside beaches, sailing, windsurfing, boat trips on the Bodensee. Cycling, hiking and Nordic walking around the lake or in the hills around Langenargen: in Langenargen the opportunities to enjoy your leisure time are endless.

Pfahlbaumuseum in Unteruhldingen (Lake Settlement museum in Unteruhldingen)
Some of the countless finds from the lake dwellers settlement, which was inhabited over 3,500 years ago, can be seen in the Freichlichtmuseum (Open-air Museum) in Unteruhldingen (as well as in the history museum of Arbon).
Twenty buildings have been reproduced in the original size, making it possible to travel back in time to the Stone and Bronze Ages (3370 B.C.) at the Bodensee. How did they live? Why did they build on the water? What did the landscape of the Bodensee look like in the Stone Age? These and many other questions are answered on the tours led by specially trained tour leaders. New in 2005 was the 'Haus der Fragen' or House of Questions'.

In the evenings, the winding lanes of the Niederburg, which is the oldest part of Konstanz, is the liveliest area. Around here you will find wine bars, jazz bars and trendy drinking places. Located directly on the shores of the Bodensee in a large elegant Villa at Seestrasse 21, is the casino.
